An announcement from Northland Utilities (NWT) Limited

October 2, 2009 - To the residents of Hay River, Enterprise and the Katl'odeeche First Nations:

Northland Utilities would like to provide the residents of Hay River with an update to the recent intermittent power outages that were caused by a mechanical failure in our Hay River generation plant.

Northland Utilities has acquired an additional diesel generator and has completed the necessary system repairs to restore power to our customers in the Hay River service area.  Talston Hydro is expected to be back on line in late October and Northland Utilities will continue to operate the diesel generation plant until that time.

We apologize to all of our customers for any inconvenience these outages may have caused and thank you for your patience and support during this interruption of service.
