August 12, 2010 - Northland Utilities (NWT) Limited would like to advise our customers in the communities of Hay River, Enterprise and Katlodeeche First Nation that the Northwest Territories Power Corporation (NTPC) will be conducting their Annual Taltson Maintenance shutdown commencing on August 16, scheduled to be completed by August 27, 2010.

In addition to the shutdown, on the morning of August 16, NTPC will conduct two tests at the Taltson Hydro Plant near Fort Smith resulting in two 20-30 second interruptions, one approximately 9 a.m. and the other approximately 10:30 a.m.  Following these tests, NTPC will shut down their Taltson Hydro Plant for annual maintenance from Aug 16 – Aug 27, 2010.

During this period, Northland Utilities will be  generating electricity from our Hay River diesel power plant in the communities of Hay River, Enterprise and Katlodeeche First Nation.
